I’m thinking CP but it is quite fine.

I love that car. It’s got to be worth at least half of what they’re asking.

That’s real nice but I’m not ready for these to be 10,000 dollar cars

I like it, but that’s too much to pay for that vintage.

I think their time to be $10k cars will be soon - maybe. Probably not quite yet.

I really liked those pre-humpback Sevilles... but I doubt there is any collectors market for them at this point, CP...

Mazda 616 has another old GM product?

I always loved the 1st gen Seville. Swap in some LS power, toss the factory 180hp boat anchor and go hit up Denny’s. No idea if this car can command 10k; maybe show up with 8000 in hundreds and go from there.

These can be worth that, but not this specific example.

That’s about my take. In some markets, you could
get ten bills for one that was virtually perfect, and that’s likely to go up - or at least eight bills
. The tendency with NPOCP is to low-ball things based on “what I would pay” not “what
someone
might pay”, so it’s fun to mix it up with what’s probably a genuine CP, but is also a tantalizing pick that might be hard to nail down hard value.

Malaise Cadillacs are not all that great,
though. The engines are choked to death and the build quality was questionable. My parents’ Coupe Deville had so many
electrical issues my dad eventually got sick of it and made it into a derby car. He actually was doing really well until his cousins pinned him against the Jersey barrier and he nuked the transmission trying to get free. RIP Big Bertha

For the money, the seller should address the relatively minor faults he lists in the ad. When small details aren’t apparently worth pursuing, I wonder about other things. The location in rustland doesn’t make me feel good, either. For half the money, probably a good deal.
I think a pristine very low mileage one of these could get into 5 figures easily, but would need less than half the claimed mileage of this one, along with nicer condition.

As the Southeast goes, Greenville area is much better for car survivorship than here in the NC mountains. Soggy much of the year and often, but much reduced in terms of salty roads and other hazards and not *quite* as wet as here.
As it happens, I was idly curious what the local market was on ‘85 humpback Sevilles relative to the Hemmings projections, and saw this on Craig in that process.

D’oh, reading fail, somehow I thought the car was in NY. I’d have imagine anything in the Carolinas would be pretty OK, save for maybe on the immediate coastline.
I have no shame in admitting I kind of like the bustleback Seville. Make mine an 80-81 in blue on blue with no vinyl top, and wheels instead of hubcaps. I wouldn’t kick a mint one out of my garage.

Something of a problem in the NC mountains is a preponderance of really bad survivors. Which is to say - cars that would have been destroyed outright in the Rust Belt, but here merely got too manky to drive and then spent twenty years in the woods. In other words, instead of having it hard to find *anything*, one is sometimes spoiled for choice of moneypits.
Or, one can just go down to Greenville or N. GA. To a point.
I wonder if the Pacer and bathtub Nash are still on the highway through Cherokee where I saw them a couple years ago...

Here in the PNW, old cars are everywhere - rust is a non-issue save for on the immediate coastline (and there it is nothing compared to the rust belt), and if a car is garaged, it can be a virtual time warp - pristine older cars pop up all the time. 80s cars are still a common sight as DDs, and I remember endless 50s and 60s cars on the road when I was a kid in the 80s. I am pretty sure my fintail has survived because it was bought new in CA and then came up here in the 70s, avoiding harsh climates for long periods.
I’d expect some kind of appreciation for the best of the best Pacers any day now. A Nash would need to be a labor of love.
